Allegheny County:
Lifeline of Listening Friends – O’Hara Township/Fox Chapel Area
This suicide bereavement support group is an open, drop-in healing group held on the evening of the 1st Wednesday each month. The group meets at St. Joseph Parish in O’Hara Township. In fall 2016, the group’s two co-facilitators were trained by AFSP to run the support group. The goal of this group is to provide a a place where suicide loss survivors can share their experience with others who really understand – a place where they can talk openly without being judged or told how to feel.
Meeting information: 1st Wednesday of each month

Butler County:
Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Group – Zelienople
This support group is an open, drop-in healing group held on the evening of the 3rd Wednesday each month. It is located about 25 minutes north of Pittsburgh just off of I-79. St. Peter’s Reformed Church has long been a supporter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). In 2014, its pastor James R. Bertoti and co-facilitator Colleen Sybert were trained as suicide loss support group facilitators by AFSP and launched this group later that year. The goal of this group is to provide a welcoming, warm, and hopeful environment to those who need to talk about their grief and relate to others without stigma.
Meeting information: 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Someone’s Caring Survivors of Suicide Grief Support Group
This support group is an open group for survivors of suicide and it is held on 2nd Thursday of each month. We are located in the city of Butler on East North Street, just one block from Main Street. This group has been meeting for almost 25 years and for the last 15 years it has been facilitated by Robin S. Miller, a Bereavement Specialist and Educator. The goal of this “confidential” group is to provide a place where suicide survivors can gain the support from others in a warm and comfortable atmosphere, and for them to feel at ease to share their hurting hearts and relate with one another without being judged.
Meeting information: 2nd Thursday of each month.

Strategies for Surviving and Thriving Suicide Loss
Free, confidential and gently interactive two session program for adults grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. Explore a multitude of cognitive, emotional, spiritual (nonreligious), physical and interpersonal coping techniques with a supportive small group of fellow survivors to discover what is most helpful for you. No cost, but pre-registration is required.
